Just returned from great week in NMB - without question one of the highlights of this trip was our discovery of Chippers. Although tucked away in the corner of a plaza, we were surprised, as frequent visitors to the area, to learn that Chippers has been around for about 4 years now. While our family is not ideologically opposed to chain restaurants, we do, while on vacation, try to avoid going to any place that we could patronize when we are home. One night after a particularly long pool-beach-pool day, we decided we didn't want to cook but we didn't really want to "go out" either. I had noticed Chippers on a morning run and then read some of the reviews here on Yelp. I am so glad we decided to give it a try. It was just what we needed: great food, very laid back and very much welcoming. It was such a good experience that we wound up breaking our own vacation rules and went back a second time on the same vacation. Everything was really good. Side note: Our northeastern myopia had led us to believe that Fried Bologna was a 'north of the Mason-Dixon Line delicacy' - wrong. The fried bologna sandwich at Chippers was unreal - thicker than a hamburger. It is not a big place at all but I think that is part of the appeal. While I don't think we were the only Carpet Bagging Yankees it certainly did seem to have a good mix of regulars and local folks - which is a good sign. Cannot wait to go back next Summer. Try Larry's BBQ sandwich...and the pickles...and the various types of egg rolls...yes, Egg Rolls - not sure it they'd be considered Low Country style but they certainly were good.

Loved this little hole-in-the-wall next to Food Lion in a strip center. Over the top (in a good way) friendly. Great Carolina BBQ sandwich on unexpectedly toothsome bun. Added to fresh cut fries and a cupla happy hour brews made it a perfect drop-in for early dinner. Obviously frequented and loved by locals talking racing.

The hidden gem of North Myrtle Beach. There are countless restaurants on the main strip but no one makes Food like Chippers. It's very easy to miss but well worth it. This may have been the best cheeseburger I have ever had in my life. Fresh ingredients and a great atmosphere. Be sure to check it out. You will not regret it!

We stopped here after reviewing some lunch places that were dog friendly in North Myrtle, and this was the spot! The food was delicious, the staff was friendly and accommodating, and it worked out perfectly for our dog. Our table had arrived at the happy hour time of the day and all of the bottled beer was on special which was a nice change from the NC laws. During that time wings are $.50 and domestic brews are $2.25. I ended up with a dozen mild and a garlic parmesan which had amazing flavor. It is so important for the sauce to cover the wing and this place nailed it. I accompanied it with fries which ended up being homemade as well. The guys at the table ordered burgers. They enjoyed them but felt as though they had just a little too much seasoning. Regardless, we will most definitely be back! Can't wait to try something new!

The food is greasy and and terrible. Stay away from the pimento jalapeno burger. The waitress was friendly but that's all this place has going for it.

Awesome burgers especially the pimento cheese burger. Burger, bun , and cheese are all made in house. Small place but a hidden gem

The marinated chicken wrap was delicious! And the chicken melted in my mouth! It had a touch of bacon and was filled with fresh vegetables.

Dropped in one day as we recently moved here and wanted a good local place to eat. The first trip we had hot dogs and BBQ both were excellent and the friendly waitress recommended we come back for the burgers. We did and were so glad. These burgers were fantastic and fairly priced. Large, seasoned and cooked perfectly, on a great bun. Throw in cole slaw or homemade fries and you get a great meal. Very small place but well worth the claustrophobia.

The first three things we ordered she said they didn't have she did say that they were changing out their menu so I guess that's their excuse. The sign outside said $0.50 wings during happy hour she charged us full price. I had a chicken Philly and it was actually very good. We also had some wings as appetizers and some pork egg rolls both of which were okay.

Very small place located in a strip mall. Food sounds good. They have burgers, hot dogs, BBQ, and a variety of wraps and sandwiches. They say a lot of their items are home made like the buns and pickles. Very good food. Pickles were very unique. They tasted sweet but then turned a little dill in your mouth. They sell their pickles by the pint for $5.00. We are taking some home. Home made fries with vinegar. We will definitely be back.

Great food! The buns are homemade and all the food is fresh. I had the blue cheese burger and it was one of the best burgers I've ever eaten. Fries are fresh cut and delicious as well.

Cute (albeit dive) in north Myrtle. Very small inside - mostly locals visit. GET THE PICKLES. They are homemade - sweet and spicy. I don't like sweet pickles, but these are addicting. The sammys are good. Try the grilled pimento cheese or a wrap. It was all good!

Recently went to Chipper's after a suggestion from a family member, and was glad I took their advice! Its tucked away in the corner of a small shopping center, you might not notice it with all the giant chain store signs all over, but who wants to go to those when you can go somewhere locally owned. Chipper's is all about American fare and BBQ, and they pull out the stops. Burgers, sandwiches, wraps, wings, and bbq offer a good range of choices. While not really health-conscious, nothing was overly greasy or salty, and there are a variety of salads to opt for. We started with hand-cut potato chips with ranch, bacon, and jalapenos - very good. Their wet-style wings were also delicious, much better than some places who tout their wing prowess. Finished with their jalapeno and homemade pimento cheeseburger with bread baked from a nearby bakery, it was absolutely mouthwatering - and big enough to split for two people! The best part, it was all very affordable, almost everything on the menu is $8 or less. Definitely will be going back to try their cheese steak, among others. Skip the chains for a much more fun lunch at Chipper's! tl:dr - Definitely eat an awesome burger here, then go sleep it off on the beach!

This place is awesome! Definitely worth a visit. Everyone in our group was looking for a good take-out burger place and we decided to gamble on Chippers. GREAT choice. We all ooo-ed and ahhh-ed throughout the whole meal. Yum yum! Cheeseburgers: Great great burger. The burgers were big and hearty (I cut mine in half to eat it comfortably). The bun was large and tasty. The meat was well-cooked and tasted natural and homemade. The whole burger was well put together and extremely good. Fire and Ice Pickles: tasty! sweet and spicy! Wings: yummy sauce (mild) and well proportioned. The wings were well-flavored but not dripping with sauce. Fries: Good flavor but they were a little soggy. Maybe it was because we got them in take-out containers. Service: Great!! We were helped by a woman behind the counter and then a man from the kitchen who wrote down our to go order. Both of them were genuine and conversational. We had 5 complicated orders and the man listened carefully and made sure everything was perfect. Everything came out right and we walked out happy and content! The place is small and it was packed when we went so clearly everyone knows what's good. This place is honest and home-made. The kind service and great food were both a welcome change in this tourist town.

Read reviews and had to give this hidden gem a try and we couldn't be more pleased. Not a lot of seating so was a little put off at first but they were so friendly & accommodating that we instantly felt very welcomed. Most of the food is made in house and it showed! We have been craving the garlic parmesan wings since we left. Tried the taco wrap, buffalo chicken wrap & reuben. Everything was amazing down to the fries & pickles all made in house. Highly recommend & will be our new must - go-to place each year on our MB vacation.
